Porsche

Archives

The simple dictionary definition of archive is “a place in which records are kept”.

Over the years Porsche Club Great Britain has managed to retain, acquired or been donated a considerable amount of both Club and Porsche related items such as books, magazines, posters, calendars, memorabilia etc.

Until recently the archive material has only been seen by members on a random basis; for example some of the posters owned by the Club can be seen around the walls at Cornbury House however, there are as many posters filed away in drawers as are on display. From now on, it is the intention to display items on a rotation basis at Cornbury House (a good reason for coming along to an Open Day three or four times a year) and to list on the Website the items which may be of help to individual members.

The archive is usually open for individuals who wish to see specific items that may not be on display or a carry out research using the library on the first Sunday of the month Open Days, excluding December and January, Monday and Thursday mornings and at other times by mutual agreement via an appointment. Specific enquiries can be made by emailing archive@porscheclubgb.com .

Please note that the Archive organiser is a Club member and not a paid official of the Club and as such it may not be possible to deal with your enquiries immediately.

Items of interest currently on display are:

• Books

• Magazines

• Workshop manuals

• Porsche models
